The fibers come from the Toquilla palm, sustainably cultivated in the highlands of Northern Ecuador. Each hat is woven by hand by a woman whose mother and grandmother wove before her, in a tradition that predates most countries.
The income from weaving lets the artisans keep their way of life. At home, with their children, in remote Andean villages. The materials are organic. The dyes are organic. The company is one hundred percent women-owned and women-operated.
Each hat blocks 98% of the sun's rays and is built to last a lifetime. Wear it, travel with it, bring it back when it needs care. None of that is a marketing line.
